Nestled in rural North Devon, Beaford is a small village with around 500 residents and 192 properties. It is located in the Torridge district, 5 miles southeast of Great Torrington. Due to its elevated position, it offers spectacular views over Dartmoor.

The Village Hall
The Village Hall was built in the late 1980’s by Brian Bradcock, a local builder. The land was donated by Ivor Bourne.
On 19th February 1962 William Shawcross, The Chair at the time, entered the original standing Village Hall in the Register of Charities. The current Village Hall continues to be registered with the Charity Commission under no: 300575 and further information can be found here
The Village Hall is at the heart of the community offering Beaford residents and visitors a well-managed environment where all ages can meet socially or actively. Library and Jigsaw Borrowing
The hall hosts a well stocked book library and Jigsaw borrowing facility available for all.

The village hosts a highly regarded Primary School, a church, a garage and a very popular and award-winning pub named The Globe. Beaford Church, also known as St George and All Saints is a Grade 1 listed building, with a Norman font and 15th Century doors, windows and arches. The church holds services every Sunday at 9.30am.

From Beaford there is easy access to several nature walks and cycle paths including along the River Torridge (the Tarka Trail), the setting for the famous novel Tarka the Otter by Henry Williamson. In addition; just 4 miles away from Beaford is RHS Rosemoor, a spectacular garden which covers 65 acres and includes a visitor centre, a library, a plant centre, a shop, a restaurant and the Wisteria tearoom.
