We have a quieter week ahead of us – but changes are occurring

Following the exertions of last weekend, when we completed the decorating of the hall, we’re having a quieter week at our Village Hall. But things are not standing still. We have signed a new broadband deal (go live date 4th Feb) so those of you who use the FREE WI-FI at the hall will need to log-on to the new network; signs will be placed around the building with log-in details of the new network. We just have the regular activities for you to join in with this week as follows: –

Monday 2nd February – 09:30am – 10:45am – Church Meeting

Monday 2nd February – 2pm until 4pm – Short Mat Bowls – The Short Mat Bowling Club has a roll-up every Monday afternoon from 2:00pm until 4:00pm. If you fancy giving bowling a try then just come along before the start of the session and either watch or join in with the other bowlers. No experience is necessary as training is given to new and inexperienced players. The club holds a range of different size woods to fit all hand sizes. Please bring a pair of slippers or soft soled shoes with you to wear on the bowling carpets.  The first three sessions are free, after this, each session is charged at £3.00. This includes tea and biscuits and a good chat.  Alternatively, you can ring Gloria or John and have a chat about the bowling club on 01805 603394

Wednesday 4th February – 10:30am until Noon – Keep Fit – We have around 20 members and most weeks we have a class of between 12-15 people. For the first hour we enjoy a variety of exercises led by our qualified instructor, Renata. The sessions are a good mixture of yoga, Pilates and aerobic movements which promote general well being. All the exercises can be done on a chair or on a mat – the choice is yours, and they aim to strengthen the core, increase flexibility and improve balance. You can join in as many or as few of the exercises as you feel comfortable with. After our exercise session we have some social time to catch up, relax and unwind with plenty of refreshments! Our group covers all ages and abilities and new members are always very welcome, so if you fancy giving it a go, please get in touch : – email Beafordvillage@gmail.com The cost is £7 per session

Wednesday 4th February – 7pm until 9pm – Short Mat Bowls – The Short Mat Bowling Club has a roll-up every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm until 9:00pm. Thursday 5th February – 1pm until 3pm – Sew & Quilt Group. The Beaford Quilting and Sewing group meets on a monthly basis, usually on the first Thursday of the month from 1pm until 3pm in the Village Hall. We have a small number of regular attendees who have varied skills and interests. We are all friendly and enjoy all kinds of sewing, patchwork, quilting and embroidery, whether by hand or on a sewing machine. We pass on skills to each other as we chat and quilt or sew. Over the last few years we have worked on a variety of projects ranging from wash bags, appliqué cushions, patchwork blocks, to king size quilts! We have also made some items for a local charity and would be happy to do so again. When we aren’t working on projects together, we just bring our own craft items to work on whatever that may be and this is a great way to finish all those started projects that never seem to get finished. Or if you have reached a sticking point and need the benefit of somebody else’s experience this is the place to come. We are always looking for new members whether beginner, experienced or just interested, so if this is something you would like to get involved with or perhaps learn a new hobby in a friendly supportive environment, then why not get in touch. The cost for each session is £5 which includes plenty of refreshments. Please email beafordvillage@gmail.com for more information.

Thursday 5th February – 7pm – 9pm Skittles

Friday 6th February – 9am until 11am – Beaford Parent Community Hub invite you to join us for coffee and biscuits. We would like to bring the old and the young together with the help of biscuits and shared activities. So come and find us every Friday Morning during school term time.
